How many deals pass through your team each week and how many do you select?

For every 20 deals passed across our table each week, we might successfully select and negotiate one of them.

What does the team reject and why?

Positive Real Estate rejects deals for many reasons; such as the property is over-priced, the yield is too low, the building is in bad condition, the surrounding properties are all owned by investors only and an array of other negative influences. We look at all the factors that will have an adverse impact on the capital growth of the property therefore are not a suitable investment for our clients.

 

About The National Acquisitions Property Sourcing Team

John Tobin Positive Real Estate National Acquisitions Manager
John TobinJohn Tobin offers an extensive skill set to the Positive Real Estate Acquisitions team. Having been with Positive Real Estate for 5 years, he has attained a thorough understanding of sourcing property for the Positive Real Estate clients and identifying the properties that tick all boxes! After starting as a immensely successful Sales Agent his skill was immediately evident and he was quickly promoted to an Acquisitions Assistant/ Agent role, where he attained his invaluable training into the  negotiation and sourcing of deals across the entire nation and built an extensive network of industry contacts. Over the past two years he has held the role as National Acquisitions Manager.

His role currently involves negotiating, sourcing and supplying our clients with the absolute best investment opportunities the marketplace has to offer; as well as supervising the Acquisitions Team as a whole to make sure our client’s property needs are being met and his sharp eye ensure deals are scrupulously analysed. Having worked in both the customer relations and the sales side of the business as well as the Acquisitions sector, John is able to successfully negotiate with suppliers whilst understanding the needs of our clients. To date he has secured over 400 profitable investment properties and overseen the wealth journey for hundreds of Positive Real Estate clients.

John currently holds his Certificate of Registration as well as having completed his Certificate IV in Business Management.

His day-to-day tasks involve networking with multi-million dollar developers, Investment Banks, Receivers and Liquidators, as well as local Real Estate Agents across Australia. He is well versed in all types of residential property transactions in both metropolitan and regional markets and offers razor-sharp qualities that are vital to success in this highly demanding and accountable management role.

Through his years of experience John has built a valuable network of contacts which gives him a strong foothold in many market places thus providing our clients with some of the best investment opportunities that do not always make it to the public market.

Brennan Latimer Positive Real Estate Acquisitions Agent
Brennan LatimerBrennan Latimer has been a member of the Positive Real Estate team for nearly two and a half years. He began working in Project Management before taking an interest in Acquisitions where he is now an integral part of a team; responsible for the supply of quality stock to our investors.
Having worked in different sectors he has a sound knowledge of the business’ functionality, which in his time at Positive has led him to assist in over 200 successful property sales through means of either contract management or supply.

In 2009 Brennan completed a four year Bachelor Degree of Property Economics from the University of Technology Sydney, which gave him a solid understanding of the property sector and all of its facets. More recently he has completed a Certificate IV in Business Management.
His day to day activities involve networking with multi-million dollar developers to local Real Estate Agents across a range of geographies; from agents in Sydney to developers in Gladstone. He has a thorough understanding of all property types and a strong knowledge across a variety of major cities and regional locations.

He believes that the key to successful stock supply is to be as ‘hands on’ as possible, be thorough and concentrate on the particular ‘x-factor’ that makes a deal worthy of a Positive Real Estate listing.

Adam Trevenen Positive Real Estate Acquisitions Role
Adam TrevenenAdam Trevenen has been with the Positive Real Estate team for almost 2 years now.  Adam began at Positive Real Estate in Project Management where he learnt the process of buying and settling an investment property and guiding our clients through this process. After acquiring the knowledge he needed he then branched into Acquisitions for the company. His daily tasks including acquiring the most profitable property investments from our most promising locations; analysing the best money-making deals within cities like Sydney or Newcastle to regional markets like Orange.

Adam is now a crucial member of the Acquisitions team and strives to source the best available investment properties to offer to our investors first-hand.

Adam has a truly global approach to real estate and its processes after living in England and Hong Kong for many years. This has taught him how to deal with different situations and adapt to different marketplaces with an open mind set.
Adam is a Licensed Real Estate Agent in New South Wales and has a Diploma in Real Estate. Additionally he has just completed a Certificate IV in Business Management.

Adam is always networking with some of Australia’s most highly recognised real estate agents and developers in the country with one goal in mind; to source the most appropriate properties for Positive Real Estate clients exclusively.  Adam is at the point where agents and developers will contact him directly to list their investment properties and match them with our investors.
