This year, thousands of investors made a new year’s resolution to either refinance or look for a better deal on their home loan.

So is your finance set up correctly? Is restructuring your finance and changing lenders worth your time and effort and is the grass really greener on the other side?

Thinking long term and doing some serious homework in regards to your interest rates and your personal finance is imperative to your success as a property investor.

By keeping your big picture in mind and having a set plan for your finance, you can avoid unnecessary serviceability blocks which can slow you down or in some cases bring you to a complete stop.

This is all discussed in the video below – and at much greater length at our Complimentary Property Investor Nights held all over Australia.

If you are considering refinancing or switching lenders, keep in mind that what looks like a good deal upfront, may not be the best decision for your portfolio in the long term - i.e short term savings for long term pain.

For example if you have a mortgage of $400,000 you could potentially save over $3000 if you refinance; however is this really the best strategy for your personal financial situation?

Or, if you have a larger property portfolio and have found your finance tied up (cross-collateralised) with your bank – and have been told you are unable to borrow any more money – this is something our team of experts can advise you on.

If you are feeling the pressure of locking in your interest rates with your current financial institution, have been thinking about refinancing or simply are feeling completely confused on what your financial goals are, then you should come along and talk to the Positive Real Estate team at our next Complimentary Property Investor Night.

Seeking out the correct advice and the way you structure your finance is the key to your property investment success – it is crucial to get this right; particularly in this current 2012 market – and that is something we specialise in.

Sit down with one of our team before making any big financial decisions and get educated and up to speed at our next Property Investor Night. It’s time to find out what you MUST KNOW before purchasing in the Australian property market!
